Jim Gartner is running for the Kansas House of Representatives 53rd District because he believes we need a responsible and common sense approach to tackling the important issues facing our state.
Jim understands we need to build a better Kansas and that starts by changing state government in Topeka so that it works for the people, not against them.
An active community member, Jim has been involved in numerous volunteer organizations serving countless members of our community. Jim served on the Auburn Washburn Board of Education for more than 8 years and was elected Board President multiple times. In that role, he advocated for Kansas students and teachers, working to secure funding to improve our schools. Additionally, Jim served on the boards of the United Way of Topeka and Topeka Performing Art Center.
In addition to being a Marine Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Jim has worked for more than twenty-nine years for Southwestern Bell/AT&T.
